Tharanum & Thahfeez Competition 2014

Assalamualaikum,

Our Madrasah As-Soabereen Girls Team organized a Quran Tharannum and Thahfeez Competition on the 19th April 2014, Saturday, at Masjid An-Nahdhah from 2.00pm to 6.30pm. 24 students took part in the Tharannum competition and 8 students took part in the Thahfeez Competition. Aiming to develop the Quran reading of our students from both Yishun and Bishan Madrasahs, students of various age groups took part in this competition, showcasing their talents in reading and memorizing Al-Quran in their own styles with perfection.

Students were judged based on their presentation, punctuation, pitching, and tuning. Students who read Al-Quran with much perfection and clarity took home with them trophies that signified their hard work put in practicing for several months.

Students who took part in the Thahfeez competition were tested on their memorization of juz amma (Juz 30). Students were judged based on their abilities to recall surahs and ayats from different parts of the juz that they had memorized.Madrasah As-Soabereen aims to encourage more students in reading and memorizing Al-Quran with clarity. About 100 parents and friends of the competitors also came down to support our students in this occasion. We would like to congratulate all students who clinched prizes during the competition and wish them all the best in their future endeavours! We would like to thank all parents, supporters and sponsors who contributed to the success of this event. Life outside Madrasah

Assalamualaikum,

Apart from bonding with our friends during Madrasah time, we do have class outings and meet-ups to strengthen our ties with each other. We believe this circle of friends we have gotten through Madrasah are to be treasured for life, as we are friends for the sake of Allah s.w.t only. In sha allah, may Allah swt strengthen our friendship and sisterhood till Jannah. Ameen.

Here are some snapshots from our outings from the previous years!

IMSSA Family day camp 2014

Assalamualaikum,

Alhamdulilah, on 21st, 22nd & 23rd of March 2014, we had our Madrasah As-Soabereen's 3 day family camp held at Masjid An-Nahdah. This camp is organised every year to provide an opportunity for our students get involved in many activities apart from what we normally do every Sunday. The camp was a good time to strengthen bonds within the students through different activities.

Our first day of the camp was sports day at bishan park, where students participated in many games and competitions such as running, playing badminton and basketball. On the second day, we had speech competition, skit performance by the students about responsibilities of a muslimah, and pancake making. Students also participated in healthcare event where they promoted and educated about healthy lifestyle to the public. On the third day, it was a half day, we did khatamul Quran (complete reading 30 juz of the Quran), prayed Duha prayers as Jamaath and ended off the event with our Hazarath's speech.

Sports day was to encourage students to have a healthy lifestyle and also to teach students life values outside classroom to give a different learning experience. Apart from that speech competition, skit performance & pancake making was to let students showcase their hidden talents and learn new skills. Thus, we aim our students to be all-rounder achievers and socially responsible muslimahs.

Khatamul Quran & Mawlud

Assalamualaikum,

Our secondary and tertiary girls have been actively participating in khatamul Quran, where 30 students will read one juz each and complete the 30 juz of the Quran. We also have been conducting an all-girls only jamaath mawlud. So far, we have been to our students' houses to recite it whenever its requested by the family.
